Green fluorescence protein (GFP) is derived from the jellyfish Aequorea victoria, which emits green light (emission peak at a wavelength of 509 nm) when excited by blue light (excitation peak at a wavelength of 395 nm). GFP fluorescence is stable under fixation conditions and suitable for a variety of applications. It has been widely used as a reporter for gene expression, enabling researchers to visualize and localize GFP-tagged proteins within living cells without chemical staining.

Contains a chromophore consisting of modified amino acid residues. The chromophore is formed by autocatalytic backbone condensation between Ser-65 and Gly-67, and oxidation of Tyr-66 to didehydrotyrosine. Maturation of the chromophore requires nothing other than molecular oxygen.

Anti-Rabbit IgG - HRP Secondary Antibody (<a href="/products/HA1001" style="font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">HA1001</a>) at 1:200,000 dilution was used for 60 mins at room temperature.<br /><br />Lane 1: GFP Tag fusion protein lysate (input).<br />Lane 2: <a href="/products/M1210-1" style="font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">M1210-1</a> IP in GFP Tag fusion protein lysate.<br />Lane 3: <a href="/products/EM30501" style="font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">EM30501</a> IP in GFP Tag fusion protein lysate.<br />Lane 4: Mouse IgG instead of <a href="/products/EM30501" style="font-weight: bold;text-decoration: underline;">EM30501</a> in GFP Tag fusion protein lysate.<br /><br />Blocking/Dilution buffer: 5% NFDM/TBST
