耐药性一般是指病原体与药物多次接触后，对药物的敏感性下降甚至消失，致使药物对该病原体的疗效降低或无效的现象。肿瘤细胞对抗癌药物的抵抗能力，通常是由多药耐药性相关蛋白（MRPs）和可将化疗药物从细胞中泵出的P-糖蛋白等蛋白质引起，也与药物靶标或效应物的二次突变相关，是肿瘤治疗中的一个严重问题，它可以使肿瘤细胞对治疗产生抗性，导致治疗失败和疾病复发。
